Katie W-B and I painted all day in Portsmouth. After driving all the way to the coast, I realized I forgot my easel. Then, about a mile into our drive home, I remembered I left this painting on the roof of my car.
Great light and luminosity, gorgeous colors. When I looked through all the daily paintings, and asked myself which one I would buy from this bunch,(if I had any money :-) I picked this one. I leave my coffee on the roof of the car all the time. Usually I remember in time.
i loooove your works!!! what an inspiration you are to me!!! i really wish you would create your next painting video style. would love to see how they are done.
What a pleasant scene, Karen! You must have noticed the popularity of your blog....it is because you have such a range of topics and never bore the eye!
I'm sorry I'm so late with my comment, I've been hosting a studio show all weekend, and didn't have time to let you know that I craved buying this painting, so I'm glad someone did. It is amazing, a marvel, like all of your work. XOBarbara
Looks like you saved it. Beautiful. I've pulled out of my driveway with my breakfast on the roof of my car. How embarrassing cleaning up smooshed peanut butter and jelly off the street!

Glad you were able to save your painting! It's another good one! :-)
Sounds like you really had to work at this one, but as always with your art...it was well worth it. I'm envious of the light that you capture.
Love the golden glow! Fabulous palette!
Karen, Did you find your painting? It is a beauty and I can feel Fall in the air. I think you can say, you had one of those days.
Another beautiful painting! I love the way you have carried the yellow throughout the painting, especially in the sky.
Good thing you didn't loose it, for it's a keeper.
Very nice Karen!
it is fantastic, you are great Karen
Wonderful light filled scene that is none the worse for it's drive home!
This is a real gem, Karen. I love that it survived the trip on the top of your car, and am looking forward to it making a trip to my house :)
rich warm and beautiful! love your work!
Great looking painting and had to laugh at your story. So glad the painting stayed put.
Beautiful! Love the use of neutrals which makes the colors pop - and the high contrast. Lovely scene!!!
Bet you were relieved this little gem didn't blow off into the ditch somewhere.
Beautiful work.
Oh my...what a story! I'm glad you were able to save this beauty!
Glad you didn't lose this one. The occasional cool blues balance the otherwise warm atmosphere perfectly.
I love the story and love the painting! Glad it was safe and has a new home! Your work is refreshing and inspiring.
