This painting: Early AM scene? Feels like chilly air. maybe it's just projection: it was a snow day here today on the usually-warm Coast! My fire is still playing catch-up, with a cat in front of it. She shows no fear, even when the stove door is opened and flames jut forth (chimbley's a bit dirty).

Your cook looks hard-working, and well rendered: you could show the video-game makers a thing or two about feeling. good one, and thanks for sharing it.

Hi Karen,

This is so perfect. I've been wanting to do a New York series ever
since showing there last year. My photos tempt me, but so far I haven't had time. This painting says it all -- everything the look, the mood, the contrasts. Super.

What an interesting piece. I am not sure what the chef is doing here...is this through a window or outside? No matter...it tickles me to picture one of the hot dog street vendors in NY wearing this chef outfit! I love this, Karen!

Great painting. Love the color and simplification.
So funny, when I come to your blog I always get the weirdest word verifications to leave a comment. This time it is hotest. You are the hotest painter.

This is wonderful; great composition. The focus is definitely on the chef, but I like how you've added the couple off to the side, as well as the softly suggested skyline. I just love it!
