Confidence

6x6 Oil on Board
SOLD
In response to a few questions, these are mug shots.
Who can't help being influenced by Karin Jurick?
I decided to make them all $50.

If you end up doing your top 10 favorites, put this one in that group. Wow, these skin tones and brushstrokes are just perfect.

I have no idea who Karen Jurick is (I am in fact a total art philistine) - but I've been enjoying this vibrant series of portrait works, and kind of impressed by the speed combined with quality you display, Karen (Bruson, that is). This is real professionalism - and a real pleasure to enjoy your paintings so often. Each of us out here just takes a minute or two to sample what you worked so hard on - but all those minutes of pleasure add up to a big gift of joy to the world. Thanks for sharing your work out here!

They started out as mugshots but you unlocked their persona

The position of the head grabs you right away. Love your pinks here and there, and the way you did the hair and eyes. Super painting.

Mug shots??? Oh my! That explains the expressions on most of the faces. The one before this one? That is the only one who actually looks rather sad. Too bad these idiots are being immortalized though! They surely don't deserve it! That said, they are darned powerful portraits and so beautifully done! Awesome work, Karen!

Great job on the portraits!!! I enjoy seeing the way you handle the planes of each face and the cool and warm areas

Hi Karen,

These portraits astound me like all of your work does. I can look at them for hours trying to analyze what you're doing. Oh my goodness you are a bright light in my artistic life.
