Excellent work. As always, thanks for sharing it. As a person who lives in a world of words most of the time, I find it quite refreshing to have your work pop up in the Reader thing with my morning coffee. The light and colour in your paintings is a real pleasure, even over this little screen. I'm amazed at your productivity! I think it takes some courage as well as energy, to go ahead and do that. So thanks again - you help make the web a better and more decorative place for us all.
Goodness, what did you do over the holidays? Whatever it was, your painting has stepped up a notch and it was kinda great to begin with! This is really gorgeous. The skintones, the brushstrokes, the edges, the vibrancy of it all, just wonderful.
Karen - I wanted to leave you a thank you email for commenting on my work - but don't see an email address. So thank you. Your comments are appreciated. Anyway, I am loving your portraits, esp. this one, and it has everything to do with painting back into the hair with the negative shapes. Sooo good!

Karen, you rock...and so does this incredible portrait!
This is great..The blue background sets off the flesh tones perfectly.
The favorite part of this painting for me is the blue shadows that is cast on the background. Great Job!
